Saratoga Springs
We were invited to Saratoga Springs by Ed. (one of V's professors at Southwest) and his wife Leigh to hang out in Saratoga Springs for the weekend. This was a great on several levels - First, I could rent a car and experience driving in The City. I didn't enjoy it all that much, to many pedestrians. Second, we would get to get out of The City for awhile. Last but not least I would get to see a bit of the state of New York.
After V got out of work and we picked up the car and took off. What was suppose to be a 3 hour trip was extended by getting lost when we took a left instead of right around Albany. After back-tracking we made it to our destination - Ed.'s mom's house. Since we got in around midnight we only stayed up long enough to play with play with Tessa (their large, rambunctious German Shepard) and play with Tessa and play with Tessa and play with Tessa...
The next morning Tessa decided we were sleeping in to late so she helped herself into our room and jumped on the bed. Now the only way I can describe this is it's like having a small horse jump into bed and attack you with a long wet tongue. We eventually got up, cleaned up and headed off into Saratoga. Ed. grew up there so he took us on a tour of the town describing the architecture and telling us who lived where (we saw where David Hyde Pierce grew up). He also took us on a tour of the natural springs of the town. Each spring had medicinal value and each one seemed to taste worse that previous. Very sulfury. We saw a few shops, had great crepes and frites and went to the Horse Racing museum and hall of fame (very cool). I could ramble on and on but I will just get to the pictures.

This is just me being silly. It looks Ed. is putting his head down in embarrassment.
